Hamilton Looks Forward To Another Big Year For FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State basketball coach Leonard Hamilton believes the Seminoles could be as good or better this year than last season’s Atlantic Coast Conference champions.

Although Florida State (25-10 last year) lost six seniors who all played key roles for the defending ACC titlists, Hamilton enters the new season counting on the return of rugged 6-8 junior forward Terrance Shannon and a group of talented freshmen to offset the loss of the six players who graduated.

Michael Snaer returns for his senior year and will likely be joined in the starting backcourt by junior Ian Miller with 6-8 Okaro White, 6-11 Kiel Turpin and Shannon, who is coming back from a shoulder injury.

The big missing part is at center, where Bernard James has taken his shot-blocking presence to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.
