Florida State’s football team took the field this afternoon for their fourth day of spring practice. This was the second time that the team worked out in full pads. Here are a few notes:
– Tre Jackson, Karlos Williams, and Derrick Mitchell were all in attendance, but none of them participated. Ruben Carter took the first team reps at right guard in place of Jackson and Mario Pender took the first team reps at running back with Williams out.
–Jameis Winston was back at practice after missing Saturday’s due to the baseball team’s trip to Clemson. That will be the only practice he misses during the spring.
–Ryan Hoefeld took the second team reps at center behind Austin Barron.
-During punting drills Roberto Aguayo worked in with Cason Beatty and walk-on Jonathan Hernandez.
– The team spent time during the open portion going one-on-one in board drills. The wide-receivers matched up against defensive-backs, running backs, competed against linebackers, and defensive lineman competed against offensive lineman. The strongest match-up I saw was when Eddie Goldman went up against Cam Erving. They are both very physical lineman and it showed. Also Jalen Ramsey won a strong battle against Scooter Haggins and Mario Edwards Jr. got the best of Bobby Hart during their match-up.
