Florida State Practice Update (4/5)

Florida State wrapped up their third week of spring practice today:

-The offensive lineman continued to see reps at a variety of positions today. Cam Erving spent time working at center, left tackle and right tackle. Josue Matias moved out to left tackle before returning to his normal position at left guard. Tre’ Jackson returned to practice today and took all the first-team reps at right guard. Kareem Are took the reps at left guard while Matias played tackle. At right guard Bobby Hart and Wilson Bell rotated with the first-team.  When the team went outside they went back to the normal line of Erving at LT, Matias at LG, Austin Barron at C, Jackson at RG, and Hart at RT. Fisher constantly preaches the need for his offensive lineman to be able to play all five positions and it seems they have entered the cross training portion of spring practice.

Karlos Williams was not in a green no-contact jersey for the first time in a few weeks. He split time at running back with Mario Pender.

Kermit Whitfield and Bobo Wilson worked as the first team kick returners. Pender and Williams saw the second team reps and Rashad Greene  and Jalen Ramsey worked as the third team.

-Linebacker Ro’Derrick Hoskins worked with the defensive ends during position drills. Jimbo has been high on Hoskins all spring. Hoskins seems to be one of the favorites to fill the hybrid edge rusher position Christian Jones played last season.

-Wilson took most of the reps at the number 2 receiver position along side Greene with Christian Green working as the third wideout.

Nate Andrews, Terrance Smith, Ronald Darby, Justin Shanks, Ryan Green, Nick O’Leary, Derrick Mitchell, and Reggie Northrup were all out of practice today. Ryan Green and O’Leary are both out for the spring.

-FSU will hold their last scrimmage of spring practice on Monday.
