On April 29th, Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston walked out of a Tallahassee Publix store without paying for three pounds of crab legs. Winston, a relief pitcher for the Florida State baseball team, was suspended from the team. He wasn’t arrested for the theft but agreed to complete 20 hours of community service. Four days after the suspension was announced he was reinstated to the team due to the fact that he had completed the 20 hours of community service.
Everyone outside the Florida State fans are having a little fun making fun of Winston. An Alabama grocery store began selling crab legs labeled “Jameis Winston king crab legs” and a number of restaurants had crab specials in honor of Winston.
The Seminoles traveled to DeLand, Florida, to play Stetson Tuesday, and the home fans came ready to taunt.
