4-Star QB Treon Harris Chooses Gators over Seminoles; Worton Commits

Treon Harris was pegged to be a Seminole. But when it came to Signing Day, the 4-star dual-threat quarterback swung in the opposite direction.

Treon Harris announced Wednesday he would be joining the Gators this fall. The 4-star quarterback joins C.J. Worton in committing to Florida on Signing Day.

According to several sources, Harris has decided to join Will Muschamp and Co. in Gainesville as a Florida Gator.

Harris completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,159 yards in his senior season at Booker T. Washington High School in Miami and threw 28 touchdowns to 4 interceptions. He also rushed for 575 yards.

Scouting reports mark Harris as  a player with dynamic speed, but his lack of prototypical size has many saying he won’t be able to take on the quarterback position in college.

Nonetheless, the Gators picked up a useful speed threat for their offense.

Four-star wide receiver C.J. Worton also completed his flip from Florida State to Florida on Signing Day, giving the Gators some much needed help at receiver.

Worton is the younger brother of UCF receiver J.J. Worton. He caught 15 touchdowns for Homestead South Dade High last season.

Are the Gators making the right moves to ensure a bounce-back season in 2014?
