SEC Honors Demps, Reid, Johnson

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Florida running back Jeff Demps, LSU safety Eric Reid and Arkansas return specialist/running back Dennis Johnson are the Southeastern Conference players of the week.

Demps rushed for a career-high 158 yards and two touchdowns against Vanderbilt. He had 213 all-purpose yards.

Reid had six tackles and an interception at the goal line in the fourth quarter of the Tigers’ win at No. 4 Alabama. He also forced a fumble.

Johnson earned special teams honors after returning a kick 98 yards for a touchdown and totaling 252 all-purpose yards in the Razorbacks’ win over South Carolina.

Georgia center Ben Jones is offensive lineman of the week, while Jake Bequette of Arkansas and LSU’s Sam Montgomery shared defensive line honors.

Kentucky quarterback Maxwell Smith is freshman of the week.
