Clowney’s Sports Hernia Surgery From A Closer Look
Houston Texans’ number one overall pick Jadeveon Clowney underwent sports hernia surgery on June 12th and will miss a mandatory mini camp beginning on June 17th. The former South Carolina Gamecock is expected to be fully healed in time for training camp.
Having to require surgery is no small issue considering Clowney had just inked a four-year deal worth a reported $22.72 million with the Texans. It is worth noting that the star defensive end performed limited duty at the NFL Scouting Combine, as well as during his pro day. Furthermore, Clowney also elected to bypass all private workouts with any teams leading up to the draft. This sudden surgery has fueled speculation that Clowney must have known that he was already injured and simply waited until he had secured his first pro contract before going under the knife.
Here is the video of Clowney’s April 2nd pro day which was held on the campus of South Carolina University. See if you can notice whether or not Clowney was fully healthy during all of his drills.Clowney's Sports Hernia Surgery From A Closer Look by Rob Brewer
