Clint Trickett Will Remain WVU Starter

Clint_Trickett_2013MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia quarterback Clint Trickett will make his second straight start one week after hurting his throwing arm.

West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen made the announcement on his statewide radio show Thursday night.

Trickett threw for 309 yards and a touchdown in his first start for the Mountaineers in a 30-21 win last week against No. 21 Oklahoma State.

Trickett was intercepted twice but led West Virginia on two late scoring drives that resulted in field goals.

Holgorsen wanted see how Trickett and two other quarterbacks performed in practice this week.

Ford Childress and Paul Millard have started two games apiece for the Mountaineers (3-2, 1-0 Big 12), who play the 17th-ranked Bears (3-0, 0-0) on Saturday night.
