Clemson QB Out for Spring
Clemson’s talented freshman quarterback is out for the spring. According to CBS Sports, Deshaun Watson suffered a “slight crack in his collarbone” on Monday during a scrimmage. He will not play in the Tigers’ spring game on Saturday.
According to Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, the Watson will not need surgery he and should be healthy in time for summer workouts.
Swinney said that it’s not serious but it’s still a setback.
“This is a shame because he was having an outstanding spring. Fortunately this is not a serious injury. I hate that he will miss the Spring Game. I know a lot of people were anxious to see him make his debut in Death Valley.”
“All have had good days and had some not so good days, but it is a very competitive situation,” Swinney said. “I don’t see us determining a starter until August. There is no obvious front-runner.”
