Clanton’s 29 Points Not Enough To Beat Memphis
Keith Clanton celebrated his senior day with perhaps his best shooting game of the season, but his 29 points on 10 of 15 field goal attempts (three of four from three) was not enough to lift the Knights over the C-USA leading Memphis Tigers. UCF lost 76-67 to Memphis Saturday at the UCF Arena.
It was Clanton’s last home game as a Knight. UCF (19-10, 8-6 C-USA) will finish the season with two road games.
Clanton, perhaps the greatest basketball player to suit up for UCF, was honored before the game. UCF gave out fake beards to students as they walked into the Arena.
Besides Clanton, UCF struggled to find other ways to score. Isaiah Sykes struggled, scoring 10 points on 4 of 16 shots. Tristan Spurlock did not play due to an undisclosed injury.
