Chris Archer Feels Fine, His Catcher Jose Molina Preaches Consistency
Chris Archer & Jose Molina Talk About Developing Curveball & Consistency
Before making his first Grapefruit League start of the spring Chris Archer tweeted out a simple question about consistency. After the game Archer said he felt fine and Jose Molina talked about how important it was that Archer develop consistency.
How consistently can you be consistent?

Chris Archer threw 21 pitches in his two innings of work and thanks to a double play ball faced just the minimum number of hitters. He was happy with the use of his changeup on the afternoon saying, “I think I got three or four total, it was exactly what I wanted. I threw them to lefties and righties. They were all down in the strike zone, one was a ball but it was still where I wanted it.”
Jose Molina said that for a first outing Archer was really good. He said that the two often talk about him [Archer] being consistent. “The more consistent he is he is going to be even better.” Molina said. “We’ve been talking about that a lot about every pitch being consistent.”
He also says that Archer will continue to work on his curveball because he is going to continue to call it and Archer wants to throw it. Molina expects it to be a big pitch for Archer into the season.
