Chicagos Sharp Out vs. Colorado
The Chicago Blackhawks faced some rare adversity on Thursday, as it was announced Patrick Sharp wouldnt travel with the team to Denver for Fridays game against the Avalanche.
Whats more, Sharp could miss up to three weeks of action with what appears to be an upper-body injury.
The 31-year-old forward was hurt during Chicagos 3-2 win over the Avs on Wednesday night after he was driven into the boards midway through the third period by Colorado defenseman Ryan OByrne:
Sharp left the game immediately and didnt return.
Following the contest, Hawks head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters Sharp was expected to miss some time, but said the injury wasnt season-threatening.
Sharp has been a big part of Chicagos remarkable 21-0-3 start to the season. Hes tied for third on the team in scoring, with 18 points, and is second among all skaters with 13 assists.
In what appears to be a related move, the Hawks recalled forward Brandon Bollig from AHL Rockford.
