Carlos Zambrano Loses It Yet Again

Carlos Zambrano Still Unable To Control Temper

Marlins_Carlos_Zambrano_2Carlos Zambrano was not on the mound during Game Three of the Venezuelan winter league finals but soon found himself in the middle of a brawl swinging hay-makers at anything he could.

The 32-year old Zambrano hasn’t pitched in the major leagues since going 7-10 with a 4.49 ERA with the Miami Marlins in 2012.

His exit from baseball has little to do with his ability on the mound and a lot to do with his temper on the field.

It is important to note, there is no crime in exiting the dugout in a basebrawl….but the best course of action when not directly involved in the action is to grab an opposing player and dance until the dust settles.

Unfortunately, Zambrano didn’t assume that role, instead he chose to charge out of the dugout and begin swinging at the opposing pitcher and others. Not exactly the way to show the scouts in attendance that you’ve reached a more mature stage in your life.

Last season he signed a minor league deal with the Philadelphia Phillies and appeared in 7 games including four starts at the Triple-A level before being straining his lat muscle and subsequently being released.  His actions during the Venezuelan League Finals may be the straw that broke the camels back for Zambrano in the major leagues.
