Carlos Santana To Be Re-Evaluated
Cleveland Indians catcher Carlos Santana will be tested for concussion-like symptoms after falling ill one day after taking a foul ball off his mask, manager Terry Francona told reporters on Monday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Santana, who was sent back to the team hotel and didn’t play in the Indians’ 6-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Monday, was hit in the catcher’s mask by a foul tip on Sunday.
“He was sick, but because he got that foul tip, we had to be cautious,” Francona told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “We don’t know if he’s sick or he has concussion-like symptoms, so we sent him back to the hotel and we’ll re-evaluate him and we’ll go from there.”
He was supposed to be the Indians designated hitter on Monday, hitting .159 on the season with six home runs and 17 RBIs.Carlos Santana To Be Re-Evaluated by Sports Talk Florida
