Buying Stock in Former FSU QB E.J. Manuel
That's right. According to Pro Football Talk, Manuel signed a "brand contract" with a brokerage firm that purchases percentages of athlete's future earnings and then sells shares to the public.
The company is expected to announce when Manuel's stock will be made public by Thursday. You can purchase his stock under the symbol EJMLL.
Manuel will be paid $4.97 million for 10 percent interest in his "brand income," according to ESPN. The firm predicts that he will make close to $104 million during and after his career in the NFL.
The 24-year-old signed a rookie contract with the Bills last year for $8.9 million, as the 16th overall pick in the draft.
Other players entering the stock market include Texans RB Arian Foster.
