Bullish On The Stock Of Kirk Hinrich This Week

The Fantasy Basketball world was shaken up significantly when it was learned that Chicago Bulls PGDerrick Rose(knee) suffered a right knee injury which will require surgery on Monday. He has returned to Chicago for the procedure to repair a torn meniscus. The good news for Bulls fans, and Fantasy owners, and Rose, for that matter, is that the injury was not to the same knee where he tore his anterior cruciate ligament. He might be able to rehab and get back onto the field before seasons end. So if you have an Injured Reserve spot, definitely use it and dont drop him just yet.

With Rose on the mend, the time is now to add veteran GKirk Hinrich. Unless something crazy happens, and the team looks outside the organization for help via trade, Hinrich is expected to start. GMarquis Teaguewill also see a tremendous increase in Fantasy appeal, and it wouldnt be surprising at some point to see him even supplant Hinrich in the starting five. Thats a situation to watch, although, the veteran is the play now.

The schedule has all NBA teams off for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday. So basketball fans, enjoy the day with your families, and come back at it on Black Friday.

There are still plenty of teams with four-game schedules despite the six-day window in the new week. The Detroit Pistons have the most favorable set of circumstances, as all four of their games are on home hardwood. And they have favorable games against Milwaukee and L.A. Lakers, two teams not necessarily known for their defensive prowess. The Philadelphia 76ers also pay a visit to Cream City, and they rank dead-last in scoring defense, allowing 109.6 points per game. Look for the Pistons to roll up some impressive Fantasy stat lines this week.

The Golden State Warriors also have four games, but theyre all on the road. Dont fret, though. Sacramento is on the schedule, and after a big defensive start, theyre starting to get back to their old ways, and Dallas and Oklahoma City allow well over 100 points per contest. The Warriors will be fine for Fantasy owners.

If you have plenty of Kings, unfortunately, they are the only team with two games on the docket. If youre in a cumulative Fantasy league, youll likely want to reserve everyone not named F/CDeMarcus Cousins. Even Cousins might be a risky play if you have a handful of other alternatives with four-game schedules.

Houston Rockets GJames Harden(foot) is unlikely to play in Mondays game in Memphis, and after that things remain murky. The Rockets have four games for the upcoming week, so if he just missed one game, it wouldnt be the end of the world. But that is no guarantee, and he could miss multiple games. And for that, no one would be thankful. Brooklyn Nets CBrook Lopez(ankle) continues to be a Fantasy turkey, as he was sidelined again Sunday. With Lopez still on the shelf, CAndray Blatchehas gotten extended play, and he has been Fantasy gold. If he is available, youll definitely want him in your lineup. Even when Lopez can return, its hard to imagine head coach Jason Kidd not finding more minutes for Blatche as well as he has played. If you were waiting for Denver Nuggets GDanilo Gallinari(knee) to return, that isnt likely to happen any time soon. The Denver Postreports Gallinari has yet to even resume running, as he slowly recovers from surgery.
