Bucs Waive Tight End Danny Noble
The news was first reported by Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post and shortly after confirmed by the Buccaneers.
Noble saw action in four games last season before a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve. He caught five passes for 43 receiving yards in the preseason.
The Bucs traveled to Foxborough to face the New England Patriots with three healthy but very inexperienced tight ends in Noble, Nate Byham, and Tim Wright. Noble was inactive for the game.
There is the possibility that if he passes through waivers unclaimed that the team could re-sign him to the practice squad.
Luke Stocker and Tom Crabtree both stayed behind to mend injuries. Stocker was placed on season-ending injured reserve yesterday with a hip injury. Crabtree, who is recovering from an ankle injury, could play Sunday.
One would have to believe that at this point, the team is looking for an upgrade at the position, having seen very little production from that spot through three games.
