Bucs Training Camp Position Battles: Wide Receiver
The countdown is on, and before you know it, July 24 will be here and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be kicking off training camp for 2014. One of the more intriguing battles in this year’s camp looks to be the wide receiver position. After Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans, there’s a vacancy at the No. 3 spot, with an opportunity for a number of guys to step up and become the team’s slot receiver.
Louis Murphy and quarterback Josh McCown seemed to have developed a real chemistry this offseason, and you could see that in minicamp. Chris Owusu also looked impressive during OTAs and minicamp. Lavelle Hawkins was relegated to assisting the coaching staff during minicamp due to an injury and David Gettis could be one to watch if he can regain the form he had earlier on in his career, before he suffered a torn ACL and hamstring injuries.
