The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed former TCU offensive tackle Jeff Olson, a source told Sports Talk Florida. Olson had a tryout at One Buc Place Saturday and inked a deal with the team shortly after.

The 6-foot-4, 308-pound versatile lineman started all 13 games at left tackle in 2011, anchoring an inexperienced Horned Frogs’ offensive line that allowed just 1.0 sacks per and game averaged 40.9 points.

In 2010 he lined up at right tackle and was part of a TCU offensive line that allowed just nine sacks in 13 games and finished the season ranked fourth in scoring (41.6 points per game).

While most of Olson’s experience has been on the outside, the Bucs are hoping he can provide some competition at guard and center.

The Bucs made some other roster moves today, including signing former Broncos fullback Spencer Larsen, former Rutgers cornerback Mason Robinson, and wide receiver Bobby Sewell out of Brown.

To make room for those news additions, the Bucs waived Nick Saenz and guard Jeremy Lewis. Wide receiver Jerry Johnson has been designated as exempt/left squad.
