Bucs Release Tiquan Underwood, Najee Goode
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued to make adjustments to the 53-man roster, even after yesterday’s deadline, by releasing wide receiver Tiquan Underwood and linebacker Najee Goode.
The Bucs released both players to allocate roster space for two new additions in rookie defensive tackle Chris Jones and wide receiver Russell Shepard.
Underwood’s release comes as a surprise. A fifth-year journeyman player who looked to finally have a home in Tampa, he saw action in 14 games last season for the Bucs.
He caught 28 passes for 425 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. He finished the preseason with 5 catches for 57 receiving yards.
Goode, a second-year player out of West Virginia, had a solid preseason with the club. In the final preseason game against the Redskins, he picked off quarterback Pat White and returned it into the end zone to score.Bucs Release Tiquan Underwood, Najee Goode by Jenna Laine
