Bucs’ Minicamp: Things to Address
We thought it was a pretty sure thing that the signing of Josh McCown would slide him right into the starting spot. All of a sudden, there’s talk that backup Mike Glennon will compete for the job. So, is there a competition here? If there is, it won’t happen during minicamp. Glennon will most likely stick with the second team and McCown with the first. Training camp will be the time and place if Glennon wants to fight for it.
Wide Receiver Woes
Yes, the Bucs have Vincent Jackson. That’s great, however who will play WR opposite of Jackson? According to ESPN, for now, it will be veteran Louis Murphy. But, they will still need to fill their roster with more than one receiver.
Here’s what we know: it can only get better from here. There is no way that the offensive line will be as terrible as it was in 2013 with the additions of Anthony Collins and Evan Dietrich-Smith. The only thing in question is the status of guard Carl Nicks. ESPN reports that since he missed most of last season with an injury, he may not be back to full strength just yet.
