Bucs Leading the Arizona Cardinals 10-0 at the Half

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie quarterback Mike Glennon converted twice on third down on the Bucs’ last possession before halftime, setting up a 50-yard field goal by kicker Rian Lindell, giving the Bucs a 10-0 lead.
Glennon, starting the drive from the Tampa Bay 7 yard line, got some help after Cardinals safety Yeremiah Bell was flagged for unnecessary roughness on tight end Tim Wright, who has emerged as a reliable target for Glennon in his rookie debut.
So far today, Glennon has completed 15 of 24 passes for 115 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.
On the Cardinals’ second offensive possession, defensive tackle Gerald McCoy recovered a Rashaad Mendenhall fumble forced by cornerback Leonard Johnson at the Tampa Bay 47, with McCoy returning it 12 yards to the Arizona 41.
Following runs of 12 and 8 yards from running back Doug Martin, and a 14-yard pass over the middle to Mike Williams, Glennon threw an 8-yard touchdown strike to Williams on a quick-in, giving the Bucs a 7-0 lead.
It was the first touchdown of Glennon’s NFL career.
Former Florida Gators running back and Olympic track silver medal medalist Jeff Demps made his debut with the Buccaneers. He had a 14-yard pickup on an end-around.
Gerald McCoy sacked Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer on the first play from scrimmage for an 8-yard loss.
The Bucs defense has stifled Palmer, who has completed 8 of 16 passes for 58 yards. The Bucs have surrendered only three first downs to the Cardinals, who have produced 87 total yards of offense.
Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald has not had a single reception. He has been lined up against Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis.
The Bucs offensive line has struggled to protect Glennon at times today. Yeremiah Bell registered a sack on Mike Glennon for an 11-yard loss in the first quarter.
As expected, there is no sign of quarterback Josh Freeman. He was ordered by the team not to be on the sideline and instead is at the stadium, watching the game from a suite.
