The Seattle Seahawks’ 11-game home winning streak may come to an end today, unless the winless Buccaneers, who are playing more like a 7-1 team than Seattle, self-implode.
Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon completed 10 of 11 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns to give the Bucs a 21-7 lead in the first half.
The Bucs’ third touchdown, set up by a fumble recovery by punter Michael Koenen on a kickoff, featured running back Mike James delivering a Tim Tebow-esque jump shot to tight end Tom Crabtree.
The Seahawks’ lone touchdown — a 16-yard pass from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to wide receiver Jermaine Kearse — came after personal fouls on defensive end Da’Quan Bowers and cornerback Michael Adams.
So far, Wilson is 4 for 8 for 28 passing yards, one touchdown, and an interception.
On third-and-5 of the opening drive, Bucs strong safety Mark Barron picked off Wilson on a pass intended for tight end Zach Miller at the Tampa Bay 14.
Wilson had three rushes for 26 yards on the ground.
Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch finished the first half with six carries for 50 yards. He left the game briefly with a knee injury but did return.
In his second NFL start, rookie running back Mike James has 17 carries for 82 rushing yards.
