Bucs Contact Multiple Teams About Freeman
The Josh Freeman saga in Tampa Bay hit an all-new low on Monday when reports of Freeman being in the league's substance abuse program surfaced, only to have Freeman lash out in response with a statement saying he has ADHD (and therefore is in the program but not for bad reasons).
It's gotten ugly and the Buccaneers have to get rid of him; as you'll recall CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora first reported Freeman would seek a trade.
Trading Freeman is problematic for the Bucs.
They need a team who wants a quarterback and is willing to pick up $6-plus million of his salary in 2013. Freeman is a free agent after this year so whoever deals for him is basically renting him. You've got to have a need at quarterback then too.
