Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Cody Grimm was arrested Sunday in Leesburg, Virginia on charges of public intoxication, the Washington Post reports.
Grimm, who was in town to visit family and attend a wedding, was arrested at the Hampton Inn at 5:30 a.m.
He was also arrested March 10 in Christianburg, Virginia for the same misdemeanor. A hearing is scheduled for July 9.
A seventh-round pick for the Bucs in 2010, Grimm found his way into a starting spot his rookie year and in 2011.
Injuries ended both of those seasons prematurely and Grimm has been relegated to backup and special teams roles ever since.
Regarded as a ‘fringe player,’ Grimm likely survived final roster cuts last season because of good character.
He’s regarded as a hard-worker and ideal teammate within the Bucs locker room. This certainly does not bode well for his case to stick around in 2013.Bucs' Cody Grimm Arrested for Public Intoxication by Jenna Laine
