The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are attempting to place kicker Lawrence Tynes on the non-football injury list, rather than injured reserve, according to FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo.
Saturday morning, Tynes’ wife Amanda tweeted, “The Bucs informed my husband via EMAIL that he will be placed on NFI. Wouldn’t expect anything more from such a classy organization. #blkout”
The move would also involve the Bucs paying Tynes’ salary, which is not mandated on the NFI, but in terms of legalities, would keep the Bucs from assuming liability over the MRSA infection and getting slapped with a lawsuit.
This isn’t the first time Mrs. Tynes has voiced her displeasure with the organization. Earlier this week, she took a shot at coach Greg Schiano, saying her husband “is not responding at all yet” to treatment.
Tynes is currently undergoing treatment for the staph infection in Kansas City.Report: Bucs Attempting to Place Lawrence Tynes on Non-Football Injury List by Jenna Laine
