Bucs Sign Former Cardinals CB Michael Adams
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed cornerback Michael Adams, the Bucs announced today. To meet the 90-man roster threshold, the team released guard Jeremy Lewis.
An undrafted free agent out of Louisiana-Lafayette, Adams spent six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, seeing action in 74 games, mostly in the Cardinals’ defensive subpackages.
At 5-foot-7, Adams is undersized and lacks the ideal length the Bucs covet in cornerbacks, but he’s capable of lining up at nickel and was a valuable contributor to the Cardinals on special teams.
