[1]The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have signed tight end Tom Crabtree to a two-year contract.

Crabtree (6-4, 245) has spent the past three seasons (2010-12) with the Green Bay Packers.

While in Green Bay, Crabtree appeared in 46 games with 16 starts, recording 18 receptions for 302 yards (16.8 avg.) and four touchdowns. He has appeared in three playoff games for the Packers, including the team’s win in Super Bowl XLV, nabbing three passes for 18 yards and one touchdown in his postseason career.

In 2012 Crabtree recorded eight catches for 203 yards and three touchdowns. His 49.0-yard average on his three touchdowns ranked him second in the league among players with three or more touchdown receptions.

In 2011, Crabtree helped block for teammates James Starks and Ryan Grant, paving the way for the duo as they became the first pair of Packers running backs to each rush for 550-plus yards in a season since Dorsey Levens and Edgar Bennett in 1996.

Crabtree originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent time on the Chiefs’ and Packers’ practice squads in 2009 before making Green Bay’s 53-man roster in 2010.

Crabtree attended Miami (Ohio), where he was a three-year starter and earned a B.S. in secondary education. He appeared in 48 games with 29 starts for the RedHawks, recording 40 catches for 329 yards and two touchdowns. He is a native of Columbus, Ohio.
