Broncos May Replace Dumervil With Freeney
According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, the Denver Broncos want Elvis Dumervil to take a pay cut, or they will release him.
Dumervil is due to earn a base salary of $12 million this season. If a deal can’t be worked out, the Broncos could replace him with Dwight Freeney.
The Indianapolis Colts do not plan to bring Freeney back, who was miscast in head coach Chuck Pagano’s 3-4 defense.
Freeney said on Wednesday’s PFT Live that Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning already has begun recruiting his former teammate.
Information from Mike Florio, ProFootballTalk was used in this report.
