Bright Future With Magic’s Tobias Harris
Posted By David Gaulman On September 13, 2013 @ 4:16 PM In Florida News,Insider - Magic,NBA | No Comments
While the Orlando magic fans must remain patient with the progress of their young team, they should be very optimistic!
With a young stud like Tobias Harris, the Magic are in good hands.
Even though Harris is still a young player with a lot of improving to do, he is heading in the right direction.
Harris was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats in 2011 with the 19th overall pick but was later traded to the Milwaukee Bucks.
After playing for the Bucks until 2013, Tobias was sent to the Orlando Magic mid-season via trade.
Magic fans were recovering from the loss of JJ Redick.
However, Harris was able to help them along with the healing process.
The 21-year old who played his college ball at the University of Tennessee averaged 17.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.1 assist in 27 games for the Magic.
Harris adjusted extremely well to the minutes Magic head coach Jaque Vaughn was asking of him. He jumped from 11.4 minutes per game with the Bucks to 36.1 for Orlando.
Harris is a solid 6’8, 226 pound athlete who can play both the small forward and power forward positions.
His versatility is something coach Vaughn will take full advantage of this upcoming season.
Harris has a very explosive first step, nice mid-range jump shot and can create off the dribble well.
Head coach Jacque Vaughn used 28 different starting lineups last season. If this team is going to progress they will need a little more consistency with who’s on the floor.
Harris is extremely coachable and is a model of what organizations ask for in a young player. Look for him to have a fantastic season.
