BREAKING: Carl Nicks Suffering from MRSA Recurrence
Just when it seemed like the storm had passed for Bucs left guard Carl Nicks, who overcame a torn plantar plate in his foot last season and a bout with MRSA to return to the football field, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports is reporting that Nicks is suffering from a recurrence of the highly-resistant form of staph.
Filing to @FOXSports1: Cultures taken from Buccaneers G Carl Nicks are once again showing MRSA in his foot. Believed to be a reccurrence.

Nicks had complained to members of the training staff about a sore left foot on Wednesday. A culture performed on Nicks’ foot confirmed what an infectious disease specialist believes is a recurrence.
Nicks was limited during Wednesday’s practice and did not participate Thursday, causing some to wonder about the Pro Bowl guard’s condition.
When asked if Nicks was suffering from an infection, Schiano responded, “I’m going to say it’s his foot. We’re examining everything. It started to bother him. He tells our trainers, and we look into it. Now we’re doing all the tests you can do to make sure.”
Two hours later, the Bucs confirmed the diagnosis. “Same place, same location,” said general manager Mark Dominik via the Tampa Bay Times.
“From everything we’ve been told and understand, this does happen, which is why MRSA is hard to treat.”
When Tynes and Nicks were diagnosed, the Bucs hired a specialized cleaning crew to come in twice and sanitize the facility.
The NFLPA is currently investigating if the Buccaneers followed proper protocol in the diagnosis and treatment of kicker Lawrence Tynes, who is currently on a PICC line to rid his body of the debilitating and sometimes-deadly infection.BREAKING: Carl Nicks Suffering from MRSA Recurrence by Jenna Laine
