BREAKING: Bucs Safety Dashon Goldson Suspension Overturned

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson has won his appeal and will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, as first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and confirmed by the Buccaneers.

On Monday, Goldson received a one-game suspension from the league and a $100,000 fine for a hit on running back Darren Sproles in the Bucs' 16-14 loss to the Saints, his second personal foul in two weeks.

Against the Jets in Week 1, Goldson was fined $30,000 for a hit on wide receiver Jeremy Kerley.

In a letter to Goldson, NFL Vice President of Football Operations Merton Hanksstated, You had an unobstructed path to your opponentIt is clear that you lowered your head and unnecessarily rammed the left side of your helmet into the left side of your opponents head.

You delivered a forceful blow with your helmet and made no attempt whatsoever to wrap up your opponent or make a conventional tackle on the play. This illegal contact clearly could have been avoided.

Goldson received an expedited appeal and his case was heard yesterday. He can join the team immediately for practices leading up to the game.
