BREAKING: Bucs Release Kevin Ogletree, Waive Ahmad Black
It may be a bye week, but there is certainly no shortage of activity over at One Buc Place. The Bucs have released wide receiver Kevin Ogletree and waived freesafety Ahmad Black, according the team.
Afifth-round draft pick in 2011 out of Florida, Blackplayed in 24 career games for the Buccaneers, including all 16 games last season, registering 53 combined tackles, 41 of them solo, two interceptions, and a forced fumble.
He was primarily used in the team's defensive sub-packages, include the team's dime package.
Black recorded three combined tackles, two of them solo, in the Bucs' 13-10 loss to the Cardinals Sunday, while Ogletree caught five passes for 30 yards receiving.
Through four games, Ogletree had eight catches for 70 yards.
Ogletree was the team's third-receiver on the depth chart. A free agent signed out of Dallasthis offseason, he was expected to play the slot role in the offense, a role that Vincent Jackson began seeing more and more time in.
Due to Ogletree's status as a vested veteran, he becomes a free agent immediately and does not have to go through the waiver process.
Inaddition to the two departures, theteam promoted wide receiver Chris Owusu from the practice squad.
