Braves GM Frank Wren Discusses Quiet Offseason
Both Braves General Manager Fran Wren and manager Fredi Gonzalez are entering their final year of their contracts. Despite winning 96 games in 2013 the Braves figured to add pieces to their roster in the offseason especially considering they were immediately from the playoffs without winning a post season series in each of their last seven playoff appearances.
Frank Wren was on Sirius XM Radio and said about the quiet offseason, “The one thing I learned in my 15 years in Montreal is that the delta between your good young players and somewhat average free agents is not worth the cost.”
He also discusses if the arbitration figures affected their offseason move , what role Ryan Doumit will fill, and the lame duck status of Fredi Gonzalez.
