Braves Claim Elliot Johnson

Royals_Elliot_Johnson_1The Atlanta Braves claimed infielder Elliot Johnson off waivers after being released by the Kansas City Royals.

The Royals released Johnson in order to make room for newly acquired utility man Emilio Bonifacio who was picked up from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Johnson is hitting .179/.218/.241 over 79 games this season and has 14 stolen bases on 14 attempts. He plays short stop and second base and is a switch hitter. The infielder has a career batting line of .212/.267/.313 with 12 home runs and 59 RBI’s.
