[1]Tonight it will be Boston hosting Chicago in game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins are up 2-1 in the best of seven series.
The pregame show NHL Live will air at 7 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network with the main event, Chicago at Boston, getting underway at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
Russ Thaler and Anson Carter will anchor NHL Live from NBC Sports’ International Broadcast Center in Stamford, Conn., starting at 7 p.m. ET. They will be joined by Jeremy Roenick, who be live from Boston for the latest pregame information. At 7:30 p.m. ET, NHL Live will be live from Boston with Liam McHugh, taking over the hosting duties. He will be  joined by analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones.
The game broadcast crew will be Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), Eddie Olczyk (analyst) and  Pierre McGuire (Inside-the-Glass analyst).
Now lets talk ratings….
This series which Boston leads, 2-1 has been a major success for both the league as well as the network.
The ratings just keep getting better each time they play.
NBC aired Chicago’s epic 4-3 triple overtime win in game 1 and it drew 6.4 million viewers giving the network an overall win for the night.  The NBC Universal group had to be very, very happy with the numbers.
Games 2 and 3 moved over to NBC Sports Network and as expected NBC got the desired result.
Game 3 had nearly 4.01 million viewers, the second highest audience ever on the NBC Sports Network (U.S./Japan Gold Medal Olympic soccer game had 4.4 million viewers), and an all-time high for hockey. Boston bested Chicago 2-0.
That’s the most-watched NHL game — regular season or otherwise — in the network’s eight-year history.

It’s also the most-watched Stanley Cup Final game, on cable, in 11 years — beating the Carolina-Detroit game, which snared 4 million viewers on ESPN.

Game 2 on Saturday did not quite draw the super numbers of game 3 but the 3.964 million viewers who watched the Bruins 2-1 overtime win was a welcome site to both the network and the league..
