Bosh To Make His Eighth All-Star Appearance
MIAMI, FL – The NBA announced tonight that HEAT forward Chris Bosh was selected as a reserve for the Eastern Conference All-Stars in a vote by the NBA head coaches for the 2013 NBA All-Star Game. The 62nd NBA All-Star Game, which will air live on TNT and ESPN Radio in the U.S., and reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages, will be played at the Toyota Center on Sunday, February 17, 2013.
This marks Bosh’s eighth time being selected as an All-Star, and his sixth time as a reserve. In his previous six All-Star games (he was selected as a reserve in 2009 but did not play due to injury), Bosh has averaged 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 21.8 minutes while shooting 53.1 percent from the field. Bosh will be joining teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, who were both named as starters following the fans vote, on the team for the third consecutive year.
Bosh is shooting a career-high 54.3 percent from the field this season, surpassing his previous career-high 51.8 percent during the 2009-10 season. He posted a season-high 40 points vs. Denver on November 3, his most since joining the HEAT and his 12-point, 12-rebound double-double last night vs. Toronto marked his 49th double-double as a member of the HEAT. Among league leaders, Bosh ranks tied for 11th in field goal percentage (.543), 20th in blocks per game (1.39), tied for 25th in scoring average (17.3) and 36th in rebounds per game (7.2).
