Blizzard Hurts NHL Attendance in the Northeast
Snow has left much of the East Coast paralyzed as it fell all day long on Tuesday, leaving anywhere from 6-10 inches in cities like Washington, Philadelphia and New York. And wouldn’t you know it that on Tuesday teams in each of those areas were scheduled to play home games.
The Flyers announced that their game against the Hurricanes was postponed because of the snow but the Devils, Capitals and Rangers all went through with hosting their games as scheduled. The result, as to be expected, were some very, very thin crowds.
