It didn’t take Blake Geoffrion long to move on to the next stage of his hockey career.

After announcing his retirement on Monday at the age of 25 due to a head injury, the former Nashville Predator and Montreal Canadien forward was hired by the Columbus Blue Jackets as a pro scout, the team announced on Tuesday.

Geoffrion, a second-round pick by the Predators back in 2006, is the grandson of Hall of Fame player Bernie Boom Boom Geoffrion.
