Only one day after Andrew Shaw declared himself ready to return to the lineup, the Blackhawks put a stop to that.

Shaw will miss his eighth in a row tonight as he sits out Game 2 against the Los Angeles Kings, the club confirmed [2] following Wednesday’s morning skate. Head coach Joel Quenneville said that Shaw did want back in, but said it was better to hold off until Saturday’s Game 3 at Staples Center.

He skated yesterday with teammates after suffering a leg injury back on May 2nd, the first game of the Minnesota series and sounded optimistic.

“I feel great, it’s good to be back,” Shaw said, via the Chicago Tribune [3]. “I feel like I’m ready to play, but that’s not my decision. I’m getting prepared like I’m going to play.”
