Bengals Get Another Shot To Break Their Drought

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals are convinced it will be different this time.

They’re coming up on the game they’ve awaited since last January, when another playoff loss in Houston left them stuck in place. Cincinnati hasn’t won a playoff game since the 1990 season, tied for the seventh-longest streak of futility in NFL history.

Things seem to be falling their way this time. The Bengals (11-5) won the AFC North and get a home playoff game instead of having to go on the road. They get to play the Chargers (9-7), whom they’ve already beaten this season.

Their main concern this week is getting their tight ends and offensive linemen healthy. Three linemen had foot or ankle injuries on Sunday, and three tight ends were sidelined.
