The Rays-Red Sox game got postponed yesterday. Later, it came down that there will be a day-night double header Thursday.
Second baseman Ben Zobrist wasn’t too pleased with the double header announcement yesterday.
“It’s frustrating that the weather is bad, it’s probably not going to be much better tomorrow morning from what we’re looking at.” Zobrist said via the Tampa Bay Times .
The Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox are the only two teams in MLB that have exceptions to the Basic Agreement “to basically exercise their own right to do what they want to do.” In other words, when it comes to postponed games, they have all the right in the world to demand what they want in terms of make-up dates.
“And based upon our wishes, that it didn’t matter what we said, that’s frustrating. That we didn’t have any say in it. Besides that, it won’t be frustrating if we win two games tomorrow.”
The Rays and Red Sox will start their first game in Fenway Park today at 1:05pm ET and have another at 7:10pm ET.
