TAMPA BAY – Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop underwent a successful procedure on Tuesday at the Cleveland Clinic to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, the team announced today. The operation was performed by Dr. Thomas Graham.
Bishop will require a 3-4-month rehabilitation and he is expected to be ready for the start of the Lightning’s 2014 training camp.
A 2014 Vezina Trophy Finalist, Bishop played in 63 games with Tampa Bay this season, posting a 37-14-7 record with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage with five shutouts. He set Lightning franchise records for wins, save percentage and goals-against average in a season.
