BEARS TERMINATE CONTRACT OF JOHNNY KNOX

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Chicago Bears terminated the contract of vested veteran WR Johnny Knox today.

Knox started 27 of 45 games played in three seasons (2009-11) with the Bears, hauling in 133 receptions for 2,214 yards and 12 touchdowns. His 16.6 yards per reception was seventh best in the NFL during that time. He spent the 2012 season on the PUP list due to a back injury.

Knox added 1,506 yards on 55 kickoff returns (27.4 ypr) with one touchdown, earning a Pro Bowl nod as a returner in 2009.
