Bears Re-Sign Jay Cutler

Looks like Jay Cutler isn’t coming to Tampa after all, as was rumored on Twitter after the Bucs hired former Bears head coach Lovie Smith.

The Bears put a halt to those rumors by signing Cutler to a seven year deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Alex Marvez reports that the deal is worth $18M for the first three years. The Bears have also extended CB Tim Jennings and G Matt Slauson to an additional four years. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that this changes the offseason dramatically.

According to Sander Philipse of BucsNation.com, the only chance to add competition for Mike Glennon would be the draft, and Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports says that the remaining trade/free agent market will consist of Josh McCown, Michael Vick, Matt Schaub, Kirk Cousins, Ryan Mallet and Mark Sanchez.
