OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson from the 60-day disabled list and optioned left-handed pitcher Tommy Milone to Triple-A Sacramento, the club announced today.

Anderson was 1-4 with a 6.21 ERA in six games, five starts, when he was placed on the 15-day DL May 1 with a sprained right ankle. He was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture of his right foot May 17 and was transferred to the 60-day DL June 14. Anderson made three rehab starts with Double-A Midland (May 12), Sacramento (August 17) and Single-A Stockton (August 22) and was a combined 0-2 with a 12.54 ERA. He walked nine and struck out 11 in 9.1 innings. The left-hander missed 103 games while on the DL and has missed 399 games over the last four years. He has been limited to 44 games, including 43 starts, over that span due to five stints on the DL.

Milone was on the A’s Opening Day roster and went 9-9 with a 4.39 ERA in 22 starts before he was optioned to Sacramento August 3. He returned August 18 and went 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA in two starts. Milone is 10-9 with a 4.28 ERA in 24 starts overall with the A’s. He is also 0-0 with and a 1.74 ERA in two starts with Sacramento.
