A’s Pick Up Coco Crisp’s Club Option For 2014
Athletics outfielder Coco Crisp is coming off what could probably be called his career year at age 33 — especially from a power perspective. So it isn’t much of a surprise that general manager Billy Beane told reporters (Susan Slusser) Friday that the A’s will pick up Crisp’s option.
Crisp hit .261/.335/.444 (119 OPS+) with 22 doubles, 22 homers, 66 RBI, 93 runs and 21 stolen bases this season for the A’s, setting career highs in home runs, runs, OPS+ and WAR.
He parlayed that into a huge ALDS, where he hit .389/.455/.611 with two doubles and a triple.
