Los Angeles is known for its stars, drama and at times loud mouth arrogant athletes.
In the case of Arron Afflalo, that’s the complete opposite.
The 28-year-old leads by example and is now showcasing his ability to be a go-to-guy this season for the young Magic.
“I like it, its growing on me,” Afflalo said to me about his new role.
“Last year I wasn’t used to being focused on by opposing defenses, I had to work in the off-season on conditioning to help adapt,” Afflalo continued.
Orlando (2-2) following an impressive 21-point win over the Brooklyn Nets Sunday night have shown they are no slouch this year.
Afflalo, coming off a 30-point performance against the Pelicans and a 28-point showing against the Timberwolves dished out a career high eight assists vs the Nets last night.
“Wow, I didn’t realize that’s a career high,” Afflalo said with a huge smile.
“That’s a problem,” he joked.
What’s not a joke is this years Magic team. This young nucleus is playing very impressive basketball lead by Afflalo and his humble leadership.
