Arrelious Benn Signs With Eagles
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave up on Arrelious Benn, but the Philadelphia Eagles saw enough in the wide receiver to trade for him and draw up a contract extension.
The Eagles sealed up Benn with a one-year contract through 2014, the team announced Thursday.
Philadelphia acquired Benn for cheap last week, trading this year's sixth-round draft pick and a conditional pick in 2014 for Tampa Bay's 2013 seventh-rounder.
After catching just 59 passes for 862 yards and five touchdowns over three seasons with the Bucs, Benn still has to beat out a flock of Eagles receivers, including Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Greg Salas behind starters Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson.
