Anthony DeSclafani Recalled From Triple-A

Marlins Add Anthony DeSclafani To Major League Roster

According to Joe Frisaro, Marlins reporter for MLB.com, the team has recalled starter Anthony DeSclafani from Triple-A New Orleans and optioned infield Ed Lucas down in a corresponding move.

The team is now carrying 13 pitchers rather than the usual 12, mostly due to the fact that both Nathan Eovaldi and Henderson Alvarez have had short starts to begin the second half.

Alvarez left yesterday's game early after being struck by a line drive on his left leg, and Eovaldi was hammered by the Giants on Friday night in a 9-1 loss.

DeSclafani has appeared in five big league games thus far this season, posting a 1-2 record with a 7.40 ERA. In stints with Double-A Jacksonville and Triple-A New Orleans, though, the right-hander has a combined 5-6 record with a 3.54 ERA.

Lucas, who plays all infield positions, was batting .239 in 51 games this season.
